Bolivian park fees are about 300 bolivianos per person on the tours from San Pedro, cash only; the Eduardo Avaroa fee (roughly 150 Bs) is charged on day 1 before any ATM, so change pesos or small US dollar bills in San Pedro before you leave. Border, altitude and why there is no 3-day tour from San Pedro
The Chilean exit stamp is done in San Pedro and Bolivian immigration is at Hito Cajón (4,549 m), around 09:00; you need a passport valid for six months. When the pass closes in bad weather the 4-day tour goes in via Ollagüe and swaps in other lagoons. The route moves between 4,000 and 4,900 m and every night is spent at altitude, in hostels without heating, so arrive in San Pedro the night before. From the Chilean side the jeep reaches the salt flat on day 3 and needs day 4 to drive back, so every option from San Pedro is four days or longer.
If you are already in Uyuni town: full day, 2D/1N and 3D/2N
These four start and end in Uyuni, Bolivia, with pickup at the airport or bus terminal, so they only fit a trip that is already in Bolivia.
